"Talking about my generation", Presented by BJ Horner. We will be discussing the stigma attached to mental health throughout our generations and looking at its changes in acceptance over time. February 7th, 2023 "Love yourself first" A focus on the importance of love and compassion for oneself and how it can affect your overall mental health. Learn how a little bit of self-love can amount to a great change in your life. March 7th, 2023 "Dual diagnosis and Co-occuring disorders " It is developmental disabilities awareness month. We will explore the challenges of co-occurring mental health conditions that many in our community face. Dr. Jessica Kajfasz and promote understanding and share resources. April 4th, 2023 "Springing back" BJ Horner will provide a closer look at the stages and understanding the cycles of addiction, recovery, and relapse. Wendy Jennings will present from a loved one's perspective. May 2nd, 2023 "Building our community and growing stronger, together" Mental health influences our quality of life, it needs to be taken care of and maintained. One way is through finding a sense of community. Having a connection is the key to building a stronger community. |

"Starting the conversation", Dispelling the myths of schizophrenia BJ Horner takes a look into schizophrenia by gathering the facts, dispelling the myths, and starting the conversation from someone who faces daily life with the illness. Join this interactive session. August 1st, 2023 "Youth mental health" preparing for back to school" More than half of all mental health conditions manifest before age 14. It can be easy to overlook developing symptoms especially in early teen years. Learn the steps to help recognize if someone may be experiencing mental illness. September 5th, 2023 "Suicide prevention and awareness in Northwest Ohio" BJ Horner, prevention specialist and LOSS Team member brings facts, figures, information, and awareness about suicide in our area. October 3rd, 2023 "Mental Illness Awareness" Tardive Dyskinesia Understanding of TD, a side effect of antipsychotic medications. Learn the symptoms, the causes, prevention, and treatment. November 7th, 2023 "Veteran's Health" Honoring our Veterans. Learn about NAMI's supports for those who have served and those with a loved one who has served. |
